I don't mind if the dolls are Fisher Price, they're sturdy, but I wanted her to have a very sturdy doll house, one her parents could paint or do whatever dressing up they wanted to it. It is simple, but she is young. It is very accessible, no staircase, just sit in front of it and play. I wanted one she could use now as a toddler, and later, if she likes it, they can get her more fragile things to put in it. It comes fully assembled and there are no rough places that need sanding. Just take it out of the box and it's ready to go. The icky plastic dollhouses are all pink, and leave nothing to the imagination. For a toddler I want her to use her imagination. I want her parents to be involved in the making or buying of furniture. I am giving her a few things just to get started, but the house and the dolls are the big present.
